Flamingos are known for the variety of ways in which they make themselves heard.
Flamingos frequently generate a honking noise, similar to the one made by geese. They can also make a strong, chirping-like noise that’s wonderful to hear in numbers. One of the most interesting is the menacing growl meant to put anyone nearby on alert.
Flamingos and their chicks will have unique sounds used to communicate between the two of them. When the chick is older and leaves the nest, the mother will make these specific sounds and the chick will know to return home.
